This is a fast and relatively cheap project for those who want to add an artistic focal point to a wall, or for renters who don't have the option to paint their walls.
What you'll need:
- Book binding board or corrugated cardboard
- Duct Tape
- Batting
- Scissors
- Double sided mounting tape or wall mounting tack
How to Make it:
- Cut book binding board into desired size and shape (squares and rectangles are easiest to work with).
- Take batting and cut it slightly larger than the book binding board shape.
- Position the cut batting over the book binding board shape and cover the front (the batting side) with duct tape until it is completely covered.
- Take double sided mounting tape, place on back of tile, and mount to wall.
Tips & Tricks
- Don't have access to colored duct tape? Before mounting your tiles, give them a few quick coats of a plastic friendly spray paint or enamel, followed by a clear sealer (to help prevent scratching or flaking).
- Want to get several years out of your tiles? Try using a heavier book binding board and cover both sides of your "tile" with duct tape.
